Authentic cottages in the tradition of the island.
Colorful Cottages range from approximately 1,500 - 4,600 square feet (including lanai and garage areas), clustered among secluded gardens and sweeping lawns.
A wide range of pleasant island pastels, inspired by many island flowers, will be available along with a variety of traditional exterior treatments.
Palm-fringed courtyards and generous open spaces will offer places to gather or seek serenity, while wood floors beg for bare feet. Pocket doors and sash windows will embrace the sensuality of living out-of-doors. Natural ventilation will be generated by high-pitched roofs and towering ceilings.
Current plans include 6 different cottage styles and floor plans, ranging from a single-story 2- bedroom, 2-bath home to a two-story 4-bedroom, 4-1/2-bath home. Lot sizes will graduate from approximately 9,000 square feet to approximately 16,000 square feet.
Many cottage lots can accommodate an optional guest cottage.
Local building materials and decorative elements will emulate Kaua'i's style. Exterior spaces are expected to include outdoor showers secluded in intimate tropical gardens, inner courtyards and plunge pools. The cottages at Kukui'ula will represent the epitome of aesthetic simplicity and island tradition, emulating the classic rooflines first popularized by Hawai'i's Charles W. Dickey.
